What Tiffany told me...

Tiffany told me that next year, I could have a lot of financial return, something like 1 portion's effort to 2 portions' return ratio.

But hor, no luck for love. =(

The 3 ladies I met in 24-hour

The 24-hour started in Alexis, Great Eastern Mall. This is not the first time I attended Double Take's performance. The first one was in No Black Tie more than 2 years ago. You just can't help but to love this duo, top guitarist plus a big voice!

Since it was too dark, I could not take picture with Mia. One thing I worry is later I might not have the chance anymore as I am afraid my camera could not fit her. She has almost grown double her size since I first met her. Sorry Leslie, I guess you might have to tell her this.

To all those who celebrate X'mas, this is a must get album! Top notch composition and performance. Oh, a good test CD too. If your setup is unable to capture the substantial weight, density, raw guitar pluck and texture, do something after your next bonus!

Then the next morning was at the annual Chinese Book Fair which I missed last year! The first meet up was with 深雪. This time, there was no butterflies nor little deers. No buying her books crazily. Just some not autographed books in my collection. Still, I am very happy to meet her again.

She asked 5 questions for a quiz:
1. What do you think of dogs?
2. What do you think of cats?
3. What do you think of rats?
4. What do you think of coffee?
5. What do you think of ocean?

My answer:
1. Very loyal and would never betray.
2. Very unpredictable, you would get hurt if they get mad out of a sudden.
3. They bite, scratch and would stand the dirtiest.
4. Best drank hot, too much might make you wanna puke. 反胃...
5. Calm and not a single worry.

The analysis:
1. How you see yourself.
2. How you see your other half.
3. How you see your enemy.
4. How you see sex.
5. How you see your life.

Quite spot on, indeed.

I love her pose, not facing you, yet so near to you. The angle is just so perfect, naughty yet keeping you at a distance. Get too close, you would not be in an offensive position. Just about rite!

Just 2 books for autograph this time round. Told her that she got my name written wrongly when she was here the first time. I even wrote her an email praising her novels and also telling her she got my name wrong.

She apologised and said that that would definitely be her, so absentminded! To me, CUTE!

The third one was indeed the strongest in personality, 魯豫. How could you resist such intelligent lady?! She is very much like me, oh, since she's older than me, I guess I am very much like her.

From the session, she mentioned that she is not those who would fight for things. But once she's given a task and all the required, there is no way for her not to perform well and give her best. Well, does that explain my 2nd promotion in my second year of service?

But how absentminded I was, I forgot to bring her book along! Argggh... luckily, she gave autographed bookmarks. I got 2! Yeah!

24-hour to see the top achievers in their own right! Many to learn and many to share, life can be so INTERESTING!

What's your dream/aim in life?

Well, we all had a dream, had an ideal in mind, when we were still young and innocent. We were ambitious and aggressive, hoping to achieve something that could change the world and bring us fame. We wanted to change the way the world is going and do things our way. Soon, we were jaded and lost in our way to find and achieve our dreams, our ideal.

Tonite, our manager suggested us to have dinner together and we went to this Korean BBQ in Sri Hartamas. It is in a secluded area known only to those who frequent here. This was my second time here and really enjoyed the food and environment here.

We were ordering and the boss came to greet us. He said he have seen some of us and must be regular here. I was puzzled actually, normally, bosses don't come to table except for 2 reasons:
a. To know how the food was.
b. To try to convince you to order some of his specialty.

Ah, it became obvious as he was trying to tell us that they have a dish specially prepared for some guests and they have some portion left to make us an order. The dish was something like steamed pork belly, my all time favorite, those juicy 3 ply meat with the toothfully textured fatty part.

Anyway, I restrained myself from ordering as not a single one in the table eats as UN-healthily as I do. And also, most would not bear their eyes to see such horrid scene of someone masticating the fresh and juicy pork belly.

Suddenly, I was greeted by a question from my manager, "What's your dream in life?" I was stunned as this has not crossed my mind for ages. I once dreamt of being a scientist and would invent robots to help the poor and needy. I almost took on medicine, but the family doctor told me you have to go thru the same duration as taking your primary and secondary again. Then I was exposed to computers and there was no turning back.

But that's just my occupation, not a dream. I hesitated and did not answer the question in the end. Well, if she ask me again, the answer would be:

"To have enough to take good care of my family and enough left for myself"

Jennifer, please let me help you!

Yeah, call me superficial, who would not fall for Jennifer Connelly? Tall, sparkling eyes, long hair and just about right proportion, everything to make an intelligent girl!

Anyway, I never enjoyed ghost movie. The eerie sound effects, the dark and creepy passages where you would never know what would pop out and spook you, the horrid scenes of blood and gory death... all these are enough to kill my appetite and left me gazing the ceiling all nite.

Anyway, to my surprise, it's not so much of your run of the mill horror flick. It's about what a single mum went thru to bring up her daughter. And also about how her unhappy childhood had brought damages to her.

It was tough to be a mother to raise her daughter alone and at the same time dealing with her own past and mental state. "There is nothing to be afraid of!" is what she always told her daughter, but being so fragile herself, you felt strongly for her.

Her mental turmoil, her strong spirit and character, her love for her daughter, all make this film better than expected. You would appreciate your mum more!

I felt so strong for her until I bought this book, Psychologist's Notebook. A very well written book with clear classification on mental illnesses accompanied by real life stories, and advices on helping them.

Jennifer, please let me help you!

A haircut and some 2-cent

I was looking at myself while having my haircut, it has been like 2 months since my last haircut. Gee, my face has grown big and fat due to the odd eating time. It was a long time since I looked into myself so long in the mirror.

I had a satisfying smile, I guess I have lived my life well and in a responsible way. I am able to take good care of my 2 brothers. At least they have a better start than me without having to save like hell to get their own cars.

At the age of 23, I have already finished my first car loan and now, waiting for my third car. Of course, I'm not into collecting cars, but no doubt car is what others judge you upon. Yeah, looking at my dumb face riding a bike might kill whatever hope one might have on me. But deep down, I'm proud.

I am not an overly self conscious person, but living and working in KL since 1997 had brought an awareness to me that there are conventions people would judge you upon. One being your transportation and the size of it. Being a guy, a male, I felt strongly on this and never had I try to deny its existence.

To me, guys who insisted on living their own way and denying the existence of the judgmental eyes are:
a. Unable to live up to expectations.
b. Coward!
.
.
.
.
n. All of the above!

So, I went home with my new hairdo. It's not exactly new as my hair style hasn't changed since secondary school. And having my hair done in Kimarie for the past 4 years without change shows how coward for me for a change.

Then I realised that my younger brother had a hair cut, too. He smirked at me and asked, "Kimarie again?"
"Yeah, you?"
He answered with a quirky smile,
"A Cut Above, you should go there lar! Then you know what's professional hairstylist."
"Did you see Winnie Loo around?"
"Of course lar, didn't you read the feature article in Female?"
"Got what? What's it about?"
"Haiyo, it's about Celebrity Hairstylist."
"So?"
"So hor, you can have your hair done by Winnie Loo for RM600 only lar. Wash, cut, color and blow, all included"
"Wah, RM600 can get me almost 20 CDs leh! Blow me!"
"Yeah, you and your music again!"
"..."

So, I guess a until n applies to me as well...

Bike riding years nearing an end... #1

Let see, I have been riding bike since college year, around 1997. Back then, it was only for me to go eat and visit my aunt in SS2. I was basically an idiot in KL road direction, I didn't ride to the city not until towards the end of 1997.

Anyway, I have learnt many things from my bike riding years.

I like to live my life dangerously:

Me: Do you ride a bike?

FD: Not in S'pore, but I have a bike in California. It's like XXXcc, a huge one.

Me: Cool! You ride alot?

FD: Yeah, it was cool to ride in California, along the coast line.

Me: Wah, I can imagine that, with leather jacket and stuff.

FD: Yeah, don't you have a jacket or stuff like that? It protects you!

Me: Really? Like how?

FD: I had an accident once, broke my ribs. But nothing major outside. The jacket got me very well protected.

Me: Really? That's cool. I don't have a jacket when I ride. That's how I got my scars on both hands, they used to be silky smooth.

FD: You ought to have a jacket then!

Me: Well, I like to live my life dangerously!

FD: ...

或許。。。

或許,沒有刻意的親近使你忽略了我的存在;

或許,如斯其來的約會要求使你無所適從;

或許,沒有花花草草的攻勢讓你覺得欠缺誠意;

或許,沒有電話的甜言蜜語讓你覺得平淡無奇;

或許,單獨的約會讓你放不下提防;

或許,夜晚的約會讓你覺得冒險;

或許,我還是不夠好吧!

或許,你最需要的還是時間吧。。。

The Love Watch

What's better than wearing this on your wrist to remind the love and passion of your lover?

Red, what a passionated color! The big heart shape with red outline just shows how strong the love is!

The power reserve indicator is cleverly represented with the word "Love", the more the watch is on your wrist, the stronger the LOVE is!

There is no better way to show your LOVE!
